2007 Education Symposium — Spotlight On: Product Launches

The Pittsburgh chapter of the international Business Marketing Association will focus on strategies surrounding product launches for its 2007 Education Symposium. Scheduled for May 17 from 8 a.m. to Noon at CCAC’s Allegheny Campus on the North Side, the event will feature a slate of product launch experts from around the country.

Keynote speaker for the day is Lori Colman, CEO of Chicago’s Colman Brohan Davis. Ms. Colman will speak in part about a recent successful business-to-business product launch in the commercial food industry. Ms. Colman’s product launch experience includes the technology, financial services, professional services, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing industries. She is known for her work in brand positioning, product launches, channel management and planning. Clients include Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Heidrick & Struggles, US Robotics, and Discover Card Services. She also spent time on the client side with Colgate-Palmolive. Colman’s firm, Colman Brohan Davis, is included on B-to-B magazine’s national list of “Top Agencies.” She is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s School of Business.

Breakout sessions dealing with launch research and product development strategies will be taught by two Pittsburgh-based, but nationally recognized firms: Polyxena C. Speros, Business Development Strategist Campos, Inc. and Suzy Teele, founder of the product strategy firm, Aceda, LLC.

The BMA brings together this diverse field of industry experts to teach, discuss and train participants on the best practices of product launches with the goal of developing this crucial skill set for all marketing professionals.
